- Analysis of production processes and identification of opportunities for their automation
- Development of technical concepts for new assembly lines and automated workstations
- Selection of appropriate high-speed technology (linear transfer, rotary transfer, indexing systems, servo-drive solutions)
- Defining the technical parameters of designed solutions (throughput, cycle time, accuracy, reliability)
- Preparing technical concepts and supporting the sales department during the bidding process
- Conducting technical meetings and workshops with customers
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams during solution development
- Assessing the technical feasibility of projects and identifying potential risks
- Optimizing concepts in terms of performance, quality, and capital costs (DFM, DFA)
- Monitoring new technologies and trends in the field of production automation
- Dynamic analysis: Performing MES simulations (car bodies, grippers) and kinematic analyses (CAM, cables, direct drives) to minimize inertia and vibrations at high accelerations
- Commissioning and testing: Engineering supervision of prototype assembly and active participation in the internal commissioning phase (so-called “dry run”) and cycle time optimization
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field)
- At least 5 years of experience in the design, construction, or implementation of special-purpose machinery (SPM) and automated assembly systems
- High-Speed Experience: Proven track record in designing machines where performance was a key parameter (cycle time < 3s, high cycle rates, continuous assembly systems—Rotary Indexing Tables, Continuous Motion)
- Knowledge of components: in-depth knowledge of selecting linear guidance systems, backlash-free gearboxes, linear motors, robotic solutions, cam mechanisms, and pneumatic components designed for high-speed applications (Festo, SMC)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Ability to analyze manufacturing processes and select automation technologies
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level (working with documentation, communicating with component suppliers and international clients)
- A focus on solving technical problems and overcoming design constraints
- Ability to conduct workshops and technical meetings with clients and effectively present technical concepts
- Willingness to travel for business, primarily within Europe
